The institution of exchange, the sheerly exciting prospect of studying in Somerset or Oxford for a month and an enthralling opportunity to truly explore what we have usually only read about: England, is an inspiration which each Welhamite holds somewhere as she approaches her second last year in school.

Additionally, the School has various societies that are run by the girls themselves in co-ordination with a Staff advisor. These include the Debating Society, the English Literary Society, the Hindi Literary Society, the Drama Club, the Nature Club, the Quiz club, and the Music Society.

In 2010, Welham introduced another Exchange program with St. Edwards School , Oxford while the Exchange held with Millfield, Somerset has already become a part of Welham's history. It is the most overwhelming instance when the school chooses you to represent its ideals, culture and the country in England and literally makes you an ambassador.

Every Welhamite who goes for an Exchange program carries a bit of Welham and the spirit of ‘Aarta Shanti Phala Vidya' with her and in the process disperses Welham's ideals beyond borders and frontiers. It is her first experience with the tremendous responsibility and honour of “being Indian” and doing so well. Millfield is located in the picturesque Somerset with expansive meadows dotted with sheep. It has an incredible alumnus particularly among sportspersons. St. Edwards School is in the heart of Summertown, very close to Oxford and is another promising experience with its beautiful quad and people! The four girls who are chosen each year spend half a term in these schools and arrive dazed with vivid, brilliant memories of what they later reckon as some of the best days of their school lives.
