Yet another year involving a plethora of activity awaits as I step into the shoes of the Woodpecker's House Captain. At the time I joined Welham, I thought of Woodpeckers as the best house, and I am delighted that even today my opinion has not changed the least.

In the year 2010-2011, we stood first in the co-curriculars, leading with a large margin. This comprised the various inter-house competitions-music and dance, multimedia, wildlife week, literary week, drama production, etc. We also received a couple of medals in sports. Every girl put in marvellous effort and hard work , thus contributing to the success of the house. Gargi Dangwal, of the SC batch, got the Mathematics cup for the highest aggregate in Mathematics for the Pre-SC year. All in all, it has been an incredible year, where we all attained a great amount of knowledge in various fields, accompanied by a lot of fun.

Starting the new session with achieving the second position in Music and Dance, promises another year with similar motivation, determination, and optimism to give in our best in all the spheres of school life-academics, sports, and co-curriculars. Although we were not able to keep up with our five-year record of winning the Music and Dance this time, we have not lost the zest to outshine ourselves.

I hope we continue with the evergreen spirit of EXCELSIOR.
