Recognising the need for climate action and conservation, especially of the Himalayan region, WGS hosted a workshop in collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on 29th April 2025. The workshop engaged 60 young participants from Dehradun and other local schools and aimed to engage youth from the Indian Himalayan Region (IHR) in climate action, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development, aligning with national missions such as Mission LiFE and the IUCN Youth Strategy. Renowned resource persons such as Dr. S. Sathyakumar, Former Scientist-G, Wildlife Institute of India; Mr. Rohit Joshi from Recykal, Dehradun; Ms. Deepika Chettri, IUCN India conduced sessions related to the theme.The Himalayan Changemakers workshop reaffirmed the critical role of youth in shaping a sustainable future for the Indian Himalayan Region.
