“EcoTadpole: The Zero Waste Campus Initiative” was officially introduced during assembly by Devanshi Agarwal and Nirja Karnani stressing upon the pressing need for sustainable disposal of waste and highlighting the dangers of plastic pollution. The students were introduced to eight exciting initiatives undertaken by Welhamites which will also be showcased during the upcoming Founders’ Exhibitions. The initiatives include projects on EcoEarth: Nature’s Recycling Hub, Welmush, Floresco, DIY: Trash to Treasure Initiative, Mosquifree: Growing of Mosquito Repellent plants, EcoScribe: Paper Recycling Initiative, Vastra Ajasra: Upcycling initiative and Chirp, a Birding Club where creativity meets conservation. Students craft Bird Nests from plywood waste inspiring sustainability and passion for nature. The assembly concluded with a pledge where the school committed to reducing their usage of plastic, seeking eco-friendly alternatives and propelling Welham towards being a Zero Waste Campus!
