Mrs. Jyotsna Brar, Former Principal of WGS delivered a talk to the staff on the legacy of Welham since its inception. Mrs. Brar's association with the school goes back almost 6 decades and she has perhaps been associated with the school in all capacities - as a student, teacher, House Mistress, Principal, parent, sibling and grand parent! She made a presentation on the rich heritage that the school takes pride in, and shared the stories of its humble beginnings in a rented, dilapidated building, Founding Principal Ms Grace Mary Linnell, the generations of teachers, vice-Principals who have helped shape the school to what it is today and of course, the legions of the bright, confident students who have made a mark for themselves, and the school. She narrated anecdotes, some funny, others sentimental, about milestones achieved, the challenges faced and overcome, that touched the audience. The two-hour long session refreshed the school's ideology and reiterated the purpose and reason behind why the school today is reckoned as one of the top institutions in the country.
