As a legacy all-girls’ school, Welham Girls’ School believes in fostering confident, empathetic, and self-aware leaders. We launched Jazbaat last year with the aim of providing young students a platform where they feel heard and empowered.
The second edition of this annual National Symposium on Mental Health was held on August 3–4, 2025, with participants from 15 schools across India engaging in meaningful dialogue and transformative experiences centred on Positive Psychology.
Hon. Speaker of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly, Ms. Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, former Mumbai Police Commissioner Dr. Meeran Chadha Borwankar, educationists Ms. Jyotsna Brar and Dr. Shalini Tandon, graced the occasion as dignitaries and inspired participants with their insightful addresses on mental well-being and the importance of navigating an increasingly volatile world. Interactive sessions with psychologists Dr. Drishti Kashyap and Ms. Karni Panwar prepared our Grade XI and XII students to embrace mental resilience.
Beyond the sessions with luminaries, students explored their potential through enriching events such as Sonder(psychological analysis), Merak (prompt oratory), Kaizen (quiz), and Hyggelig (art event). These events were designed to bring out the best in every participant and rekindle empathy.
While Jazbaat 2.0 celebrated positive mindsets, it was equally about unlearning and relearning the qualities that make us compassionate social beings. The event reaffirmed our commitment to mental health advocacy, equipping young women with the tools to thrive in an ever-evolving world.
