The Republic Day celebrations this year reverberated with the pride and patriotism. A solemn programme, the event started with a Hindi patriotic poem recitation by BII students. It was followed by an enchanting sitar recital. Hansika Nath, a PreSc student, made an impressive speech on how the country is pioneering in a number of fields and has made impressive progress since Independence, a fact most of us don’t even know. She urged the students to practice inclusivity within the school and do their bit. Mrs. Padmini Sambasivam unfurled the flag and reiterated the same thoughts. She also read out excerpts from Dr. Radhakrishna’s speech which spoke about how a nation must be built on the pillar of justice and fairness. The sound of the national anthem touched each one present and ended with the distribution of ladoos!
