The inaugural Welham Robotics Championship (WRC) 2026 brought together schools from across the country for a day of robotics, technology and problem-solving, with Welham Girls' School emerging as the Overall Winners.
The championship featured five events: Fastest Line Follower, Drone Racing Challenge, Sandbox Innovation Challenge, Hackathon – Code & Solve, and Royal Rumble – Robot Combat. Each event offered students a different way to apply their understanding of technology, engineering and computational thinking.
For Welham Girls' School, hosting the WRC was another opportunity to create a space where students can engage with STEM through hands-on challenges and see their ideas take shape beyond the classroom.
